Attendance

Good attendance and punctuality support the route to a good education.

As in everything we do, we have high expectations for good attendance and punctuality!

School starts at 8:45am and the doors close at 8.55am. Registration takes place in the first few minutes in class. If your child comes after 8.55am you will need to drop of your child(ren) though the main office. You will be asked to sign your child in using the inventory system and your child’s late mark will be recorded in the register.

If your child is ill, we ask that you please ring the office on the morning of their absence. This needs to be done on each day they are off school unless they are absent long term.  As always you are very welcome to consult with us for advice on attendance with certain conditions. Please note that we ARE happy to administer medicines but these need to be signed for at the school office. Please access the medicine form here.

We do celebrate good attendance – we celebrate children who achieve 100% attendance every half term with a certificate and a small prize. Children who achieve 100% attendance across the year receive an award and prize at the end of the academic year.

The national average set by the Department for Education is 96%. We are currently achieving 93%. If parents, pupils and staff all work together I am sure we can achieve the national target. If you have a reason or a problem that is stopping your child attending school please phone and speak to either the class teacher or our Learning Mentor Mrs Sanderson.

All holidays/exceptional circumstances in term time will not be authorised and will be recorded on file. You also may be fined by the Local Authority – please note this is out of the school’s control. If you think your leave in term time is an exceptional circumstance please complete the form here or come into school and speak to either Mrs Jobson or Mrs Sanderson.
